James J. Theobald is an associate attorney at Hinders, Updegraff & Franklin, P.L.C. whose practice includes employment and municipal law, with additional experience in criminal defense. He assists employers and public entities with workplace and governance issues, and draws on his litigation background to support contested matters and administrative proceedings.​

James began practicing law in Iowa in 2022 after joining Hopkins Huebner, P.C. as an associate attorney shortly before passing the bar exam. His prior study in political science and criminal justice informs his work at the intersection of government, law enforcement, and employment matters.​
